SFD Incident

Scott, LA — 8/17/25 — At approximately 9:00 a.m., the Scott Fire Department responded to a reported residential fire in the 100 block of Burrow Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the homeowner outside with burns to her hands and arms. After confirming that no occupants were inside the home, fire crews entered the residence and quickly extinguished a small kitchen fire. Additional personnel provided first aid to the homeowner until medical units arrived.

The investigation determined the fire to be accidental, originating from cooking. The residence sustained minor fire damage. The homeowner suffered non-life-threatening, second-degree burns.

No firefighters were injured during the incident.
