Residential Fire

On Sunday morning at approximately 8:53 AM, the Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 100 block of Notre Dame Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the eaves of the home. Crews made entry and located the fire in the home's restroom, which extended into the attic area. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, successfully preventing it from spreading further throughout the residence.

The restroom and the attic area above it sustained moderate fire damage. Fortunately, the remainder of the home was unaffected. The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunction involving a lighted fan and heater unit located in the restroom.

No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.

The Scott Fire Department was assisted by the Judice and Duson Fire Departments.
