Fire Incident

On Friday at 9:23 a.m., Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire in the 100 block of Albarado Road. Upon arrival, firefighters observed a recreational vehicle engulfed in flames, in close proximity to a manufactured home. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, minimizing the damage to the home.

An investigation into the incident revealed that the fire was accidental in nature, caused by an overloaded electrical circuit.

The recreational vehicle was a total loss, while the home received minor fire damage.

As a result of minimal water pressure in the area, additional units from Lafayette, Duson, Carencro Judice responded.

The occupant of the home was able to safely escape prior to fire units arrival.

No firefighters or civilians were injured because of the incident.
