Residential Fire
Scott, LA — 12/14/25 — On Sunday, December 13, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Scott Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Jerome Road. Upon arrival, crews observed the residence fully involved with fire extending to a neighboring home.
After confirming that no occupants were inside the structure, firefighters from the first-arriving unit initiated defensive operations to protect the neighboring residence until additional personnel arrived and a sustained water supply was established.
The primary residence was deemed a total loss. The neighboring home sustained minor heat- related damage. The occupant was able to safely escape the residence prior to the arrival of firefighters. No firefighter injuries were reported.
An investigation determined the fire to be accidental in nature; however, the exact cause remains under investigation due to the extensive damage sustained by the structure.
Mutual aid was provided by the Carencro, Duson, and Lafayette Fire Departments.
