Residential Fire

Scott, LA — 10/29/25 — On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 8:50 a.m., the Scott Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 1312 Roper Drive, at the Cypress Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival, crews observed heavy fire coming from a window of the residence.

After confirming that no occupants were inside, firefighters entered the structure and encountered heavy fire conditions in the living room and kitchen areas. The blaze was quickly brought under control.

An investigation determined the cause of the fire to be accidental in nature, originating from an electrical short in the wall.

The residence sustained extensive fire damage in the living room and kitchen areas. No firefighters were injured during the incident.

Units from the Carencro and Duson Fire Departments responded to provide mutual aid.
