Accident

Scott, LA-12/1/25 – At approximately 12:45 P.M., the Scott Fire Department responded to the 800 block of Heide Circle for a reported major vehicle accident with entrapment involving a semi-tanker truck. Upon arrival, personnel discovered that the tanker, transporting 3,774 gallons of Glyoxal 40 had overturned and was experiencing a small leak.

Although Glyoxal 40 is not a regulated hazardous material, it is important that it remain contained to minimize any potential environmental impact. The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) responded to the scene to assist with mitigation efforts.

A second tractor-trailer has arrived, and the product will be transferred before the overturned tanker is uprighted. This transfer operation began at 4:30 P.M. and may take 3–4 hours to complete.

We ask that the public avoid the area so emergency personnel can safely manage the incident without unnecessary distractions.
