Residential Fire
On Wednesday at 11:24 AM Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire in the 2900 block of West Willow Street.
Upon arrival firefighters observed smoke emitting from an unoccupied mobile home. Unable to locate any fire inside the structure, firefighters deployed a thermal imaging camera, at which point a fire in an exterior wall was located.
The fire was quickly bought on the control from the outside of the structure, to minimize damage to the living area of the structure.
An investigation revealed that a neighbor contacted 911 after witnessing smoke coming from the mobile home. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental due to an electrical short.
The home received minor damage due to the actions of an alert neighbor.
No firefighters or civilians were injured during the incident.
